Our Story
For a long time, several national and foreign families, residents of the city of Beira, faced the same problem: the education of their children in the academic/professional area as well as in the spiritual area. In 2018, a group of Christian families gathered to talk and pray about the poor education in Mozambique. Out of this meeting, in a small room in the city of Beira, Sofala / Mozambique, Beira United was born. Just as the sun rises and scares the darkness of the night, Beira United arised from hearts that wish to contribute to the development of society, preparing the children for the professional future and teaching them to respect and love God, neighbor, community and self.
Mission
Partnering with the church to provide exceptional, international standard educations, where the child is instructed, nurtured and disciplined for a full life: creative and rich in relationship with Christ and neighbor.
Beira United Christian Academy aims to provide what Charlotte Mason called a “living education,” where each child is guided and empowered to author a full and free life, a life rich in relationship to God, self, others, ideas, and all of creation. Thus, our primary concern is the kind of student each child is becoming, not the mastery of particular data or technique, for we are confident that the student who masters the art of learning will attain his full potential for mastering data and technique. The student who masters the art of relating well to God, self, others, ideas, and creation will attain the fullness of life for which she was created. Our mission is fulfilled through a consistent application of our Fundamental Convictions as applied to education.
